Dr. Herzig double majored in Chemistry and Biochemistry at NC State University. He worked at St. Jude Children’s’ Research Hospital in Memphis prior to earning his MD from the University of Tennessee. He completed his neurosurgical residency at Georgetown in 2014, with sub-specialty training in Minimally Invasive Spine and Neurointerventional Surgery.
DR HERZIG HAS BEEN APPOINTED TO THE POLITICAL ENGAGEMENT COMMITTEE FOR THE NORTH AMERICAN SPINE SOCIETY (NASS).
The North American Spine Society (NASS) is a multidisciplinary society that furthers the science, outcome, and progress of spinal surgery. As a member if this committee Dr. Herzig will be assisting NASS and its relationship with government institutions. This should help with access, funding, and research for spinal surgery and disorders. Dr. Herzig is affiliated with Holy Cross Hospital, Suburban Hospital, and Holy Cross Germantown Hospital. In his spare time, Dr. Herzig enjoys spending time with his wife Jamie, sons Knox and Duke, and their rescue dogs Dug and Lola.
